Dean of the Caucasus School of Governance and the Head of the Institute of Peace Studies Eka Akobia participated in a seminar – “Eastern Partnership post-Covid: How to build back better with women? “ organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). The meeting was held in a closed format, on October 7.
Eka Akobia delivered a speech at the session – “Women in peace and security: women’s role in the security sectors and conflict settlement efforts in Eastern Partnership countries”. Participants of the session discussed women’s involvement and the opportunities of enhancing their role in managing ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The seminar also covered the issues like gender equality and the impact of the pandemic on female participation in policymaking, women’s role in policymaking and the perspectives of rebuilding resilient societies through their enhanced participation in EaP countries.
