Peace Studies at CU

Peace Studies at CU is conducted via peace studies courses integrated into the Caucasus School of Governance BA and MA curriculum 

 

Some of these courses are available for University wide enrollment, thus supporting a cross-disciplinary agenda of teaching peace.
Six peace studies courses  prepared as part of the PESTUGE project are currently integrated into the Caucasus School of Governance educational programs. These are: 
1. Prof. Sergi Kapanadze, Introduction to Peace Studies (IPS 0050), 5 ECTS, elective (BA program in International Relations and BA program in Public Administration)
2. Prof. Tornike Turmanidze, International conflicts and peace (ICPB 5050), 5 ECTS, elective (MA program in Diplomacy and International Relations and Public Administration);
3. Prof. Levan Geradze, Theories of Peace (TP 5050), 5 ECTS, elective (MA program in Diplomacy and International Relations and Public Administration);
4. Prof. Kakha Shengelia, Peace, Conflicts and Co-existence in the Caucasus (PCCC 5050), 5ECTS, elective MA programs in Diplomacy and International Relations and Public Administration);
5. Prof. Eka Akobia, International Organizations, 5 ECTS, (BA and MA program in Diplomacy and International Relations)
6. Prof. Eka Akobia, UN Peacekeeping Operations, 5 ECTS, (BA and MA program in Diplomacy and International Relations)
 
Four existing courses were updated to include Peace studies mindset:
1. Prof. Eka Akobia, International Relations Theory (IRT 5250), 6 ECTS, mandatory (MA and PHD programs in International Relations);
2. Prof. Levan Geradze, Conflict in Abkhazia (CA 5050), 4 ECTS, elective (MADIP and MPA);
3. Prof. Kakha Shengelia, History of Georgia (HIST 0003), 5 ECTS, mandatory (BA program in Diplomacy and International Relations and Public Administration);
4. Prof. Tornike Turmanidze, Principles of International Security (INTS 3150), 5 ECTS, mandatory (BA program in Diplomacy and International Relations).
